Lever/Lever
A lever is a solid bar pivoted around a point (known as a Fulcrum). When you apply a force to the end of the lever, it will tend to rotate the fulcrum to the direction of the force. This rotates the force and lets you lift or move objects that normally require more force to lift.
The distance between the fulcrum of the lever and the point where you apply force determines the maximum movement. This is referred to as the mechanical advantage. The greater the length of the lever more, the greater the advantage in terms of mechanical. You can calculate mechanical advantage by dividing distance from the fulcrum point to the place where you apply force by the distance between the fulcrum point and end of the lever.
Levers also have various effects depending on how the forces are applied. For example the class 2 lever is inclined to turn in the opposite direction to when the force applied to it (like a totter-totter). The forces created by pushing on the handle of a front door can create rotational effects similar to these.
However, levers don't create energy. They multiply the force by converting small amounts of effort applied over a longer distance into greater amounts of force that are applied over shorter distances. Levers are used to lift heavy objects and move massive amounts of cargo. The lever principle is used in everyday tools like crowbars. hammer claws fishing rods, hammer claws and even your own legs, as you are standing on the hand brake of your vehicle.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad handles, also known as upvc door handles have levers on each side to operate the multipoint locks. They are available in a variety of finishes & variations and can be installed on a variety of materials that include UPVC doors, Aluminium doors & Timber Doors. They are sold in pairs for the inner and outer door with spindles & screws included. They are also available in both handed and unhandled versions to suit different types of users.
They can be used to replace the existing upvc door. The levers are lowered to open all the multipoint locks, and the key is turned to close or unlock the door. They are more secure compared to traditional lever door handles because the locking function can only be gained by entering the door with a key unless the door is locked.
They are not as safe as a cylinder lock, but they are cost-effective ways to provide extra security to your home. The only downside is that they do not provide the same level protection as a cylinder lock, and therefore don't block access to the home if the door is left open.

Typically, they will be designed to work with a 92mm lock, or the replacement version of this known as a Paddock lock. They will have a 92mm cylinder centre on the inside and 62mm on the exterior and be equipped with two spindle followers. Some are inserted into the back plate whilst others are movable to allow for different fixing centres.
Lever/Snib
Lever latches are the simplest kind of door handles. The lever is pulled down to open a latch inside the door. It can be locked using a key. The levers for privacy are using the same principle however, with the addition of a snib (like knobs for doors).
A snib button can be extremely useful, particularly for homes where it's important to maintain privacy or security. If your partner arrives home late from work, you can use the snib so that they can't get in until they're ready in. This kind of handle is also popular in interior doors like bedrooms, where you might require a lock to prevent access from outside.
In certain situations, snib buttons can cause problems, especially if you have older locks or doors that are bent. If the snib button is used in a mistake, or by a person who isn't used to it, the door could slam shut and lock you out. It is possible to gain entry by knocking the door frame or the letterbox. However, this is not ideal.

Lever/Moveable Pad
This popular handle style is typically used for front doors. It offers the benefit of preventing the door from being opened without the key from outside if the lock has not been deadlocked. This is accomplished by using the 'pad-shaped' handle that locks into the gap between the handle and the lock case.
This handle is designed to work with uPVC multipoint locks that use a split spindle mechanism. This kind of operation requires that the internal lever handle and the external pad handle are both fitted to the same lock case. It could be a simple replacement for the current uPVC handle, but it could also require a new lock case or a brand new set to handle furniture.

It consists of two inline handles that move and can be locked using either a key or a thumbturn cylinder on the inside. Pad handles can be used as a substitute to lever/lever handles. It is made up of a fixed or moveable pad which can be used to operate a lock. These Fullex handles are sprung lever pads with snibs that can be triggered to secure the latch.
